Maybe you've spent years feeling like you're falling short. Not successful enough. Not attractive enough. Not productive enough. Not confident enough.
Perhaps you compare yourself to other people and feel you never quite measure up. You might understand that social media, family expectations and cultural ideals don't tell the whole story, yet still struggle to feel good enough.
When these feelings persist, it can become difficult to recognise your own worth beyond what you achieve or how others see you.
Low self-esteem and self-doubt can show up in different ways. You might strive for perfection, seek reassurance, withdraw, work harder in the hope of finally feeling worthy, or hide parts of yourself because you fear they won't be accepted.
You may find yourself asking, "Why can't I be more like them?" or "Why am I never good enough?"
Over time, it can become difficult to know what you genuinely want, need or value, separate from the expectations of others.
Perhaps the problem isn't that you aren't good enough. Perhaps you've spent years trying to belong in a world that seems to demand a particular way of being.
Family experiences, cultural expectations and social pressures can all influence how we learn to measure our worth. Counselling offers a space to explore these influences with curiosity and compassion, without assuming there is something wrong with you.
Together, we can explore where your beliefs about yourself came from, how they affect your everyday life, and what it might mean to develop a kinder and more authentic relationship with yourself.
The aim isn't to turn you into someone else. It's to help you understand yourself more deeply and make room for a sense of worth that isn't constantly dependent on achievement, comparison or approval.
You don't have to become someone else to feel good enough. You can begin by understanding the person you already are.
If you're tired of constantly feeling like you're falling short, counselling can offer a space to explore a different way forward.

Often, clients cannot put a "label" on what it is they are feeling, they just have a feeling that something needs to change, and they may not know where to start. I understand that every person is unique in the issues they face, and that each person is going to need a unique approach to address these issues, taking into account their individual resources and circumstances.
Most problems arise when there is a disconnect between who we are and who we THINK we should be. To "protect" us from this disconnect, our minds create issues such as depression, anxiety, shame, anger, arrogance, resentment and blame. Through counselling, these forces can be energetically re-directed . I use a personally tailored approach to counselling where we work together to strip away the societal constructs that tell you how to think, feel, and behave, in order to re-connect to your true-self.

At Kristin Rumohr Counselling, my mission is to provide compassionate and effective counselling services. I aim to support individuals in navigating life's challenges and achieving personal growth. For those that find it difficult to attend counselling in person due to time constrains or transportation, I offer online counselling so that everybody is able to access my services regardless of location.
Generally, the first appointment will be us getting to know each other. To determine your reasons for seeking therapy, and discuss your desired outcome, and how we can best work together to achieve your goals. I usually recommend 5-12 weekly sessions in order to allow for genuine growth rather than a rushed "Band-Aid" fix, but ultimately you will determine how many sessions you feel are necessary.
Once you email/call/text and set up an appointment, you will receive an email with a general intake form to complete before your first session. My practice is based in the Kitsilano area of Vancouver.
Online counselling sessions are conducted over Zoom, The only thing needed to attend your session is a computer with a built in microphone (video is optional depending on your comfort level), Zoom downloaded, and a reliable internet connection, it's just that simple!
